A list of uplifting and inspiring kindness quotes to share with everyone you know.
There are tons of kindness quotes and images on the Internet, but the one that stroke me the most comes from a song for kids. It’s named “Kindness is a muscle.”
I used to consider kindness as blue eyes and blond hair: it’s written in the genes, and you either have it or not. But what if we can train ourselves to be kinder? That is the simple but not-so-popular concept the song is trying to tell. It works for kids, and it should work for us adults as well.
When we talk about kindness, we are referring to selfless acts that expect no reward. I know I shouldn’t be evaluating it this way, but kindness is actually a pretty good deal.
Think about it. It cost nothing to be kind. A smile, a thank-you, a word of appreciation can spark happiness that even money can’t buy. And it does not only work wonders for the receiver but the giver as well. It just can’t be better, right?
Psychologists at the University of British Columbia put students on a 10-week kindness experiment. They found that participants who devote their time to helping others with homework or school projects had lower levels of cholesterol and inflammation.
Remember that warm, fuzzy feeling when you hold the door open for someone else? That is the power of kindness, the pure joy that makes us healthier and happier.
So how can we train our “kindness muscle” or teach children kindness? Just like how we train our body muscle, the answer is pretty simple – through exercise!
If you aren’t the receiver, be the giver through random acts of kindness. If you are not giving, share stories and quotes to create an environment of kindness. Take every opportunity to immerse yourself in the magic of kindness, and here are __ kindness quotes and images to start with!
